If you run your fingernail across the slab you may feel tiny fissures in the top and this is common and accepted in the industry. Some fissures are only as long as 2-3 inches, while others can be 15.18 inches. They do not affect the integrity of the stone. Stone is decorative. Do not stand, walk or put all your weight on the countertop. Especially at the cooktop or sink openings. Most countertop layouts require a seam or multiple seams. Any kitchen you ever stood in that was natural stone more than likely had seams. Your kitchen will be no different. Stone and quartz seams are visible! Your salesperson will go over seam location with you today and you will sign for the approx. Location. Ultimate seam location is left to the fabricator based on the material you chose and the characteristics of stone. Next seams will be fused with a hard product that is colorize to match your countertops and smoothed to make presentable long term. Stone with movement on the slab will incur a noticeable collision at the seams and is unavoidable. Sealing of your countertops is required every 6 weeks unless you option to have us apply our proprietary sealer “Permaseal” at which point you will have a maintenance free countertop with a 15 year warranty, transferable with the home.
